The Brazilian government sees technology as a tool to raise the level of education in the country. The Brazilian economy is stable with investment in new media increasing and penetration of internet growing.

            Canada and Brazil are working closely together in many areas including co-productions in film and television.

 Paulo Hartmann

Paulo Hartmann is a multimedia artist, musician and independent researcher. For the last 10 years he’s been engaged as a multimedia designer and art director developing internet, e-learning, instructional  design, sound designing, cross-media projects, for very strong clients in Brazil. Paulo is the creator and director of Mobilefest (International Festival of Mobile Creativity). 

 

 

Tiago Mello

Tiago Mello is an Executive Director of infant-juvenile content at Mixer. His strong connection to Canada is the animated TV Series Doggy Day School, a coproduction between studio Mixer and Cité-Amerique, in Montreal. Doggy Day Schooll is set to premiere on Nickelodeon on Oct. 12, and will start airing in 2010 on TV Cultura (Public Broadcasting) in Brazil. 

 

 

Kunal Gupta

Kunal Gupta is CEO of Polar Mobile and RIM's Partner in the BlackBerry Alliance Program. Kunal will discuss opportunities in the mobile industry for media developers and how to create a new revenue stream while reaching new audiences.  Polar Mobile is a global leader in enabling content for world-class brands on smartphones. With clients like TIME, BusinessWeek, CBS Interactive and Sports Illustrated, Polar has a proven track-record in delivery of compelling and engaging user experiences on mobile.  

 

David Patterson

David Patterson is the Senior Alliance Solutions Manager with RIM. David leads Global Alliances Services Development at Research in Motion where he is responsible for content development and distribution through RIM's channel partners. Previously, David oversaw the relationship with Operations including AT&T Mobility and Rogers Wireless Communications for mobile application strategy.  David will discuss mobile applications in today's telecommunication sector with a focus on developing strategic alliances, engagement of wireless operators, and effective content distribution models.

Bertrand Chaverot

Bertrand Chaverot has operated Ubisoft’s Brazilian sales subsidiary from 1999 through 2003. Later he served at the company's headquarters in Paris as managing director of the company's external development department for Europe, the Middle East and Asia. After that, he headed the then newly-established Ubisoft São Paulo production studio in Brazil when it was opened in July 2008.
